DC Comics released Phantom Stranger #0 this week as part of their New 52 zero issue initiative. These number zero issues are supposed to explain the events that led up to the status quo in the DC Universe as well as introduce new titles into the mix. Phantom Stranger is one of these new titles.
I picked this up on a whim, and I even had it added to my pull list for the future. Am I ever glad I did!
The best part of the issue is the not so subtle hint of the character's origins. Well done. The tie into a Biblical origin is an awesome one. As well, the introduction of a much beloved character gives this issue a little "spirit" and hope for maybe a future series? Given the emphasis on magic these days in DC, I am hoping this is the case.
Phantom Stranger #0 is the comic of the week. Pick it up at your local comic shop or on www.Comixology.com.
